🧠 Notes & Reflections¶

Did some internal sprint planning, we are still in the process of bringing things online in the public repo, there has been a lot of learning and experimentation over the past few months about how we work, adopting OpenCode and going off and doing contracts, coming back and context switching back into things.

We have set up our worklog tool here now, one of the things we have been prototyping for what seems like years, various incarnations of this tool but this is the one OpsDev.nz has shipped and will be maintaining going forward. We are dogfooding it right here in this repo — this is the first public worklog entry.

Our next sprint is generally around bringing the OpsDev.nz collective online, which achieves multiple aims. One is having this collective develop the infrastructure SMUNZ needs to host collectives. Another is proving the onboarding process for collectives. Obviously we are aligned with the OpsDev.nz collective because we are the ones bootstrapping it, and it is bootstrapping our tooling. There are some other activities that OpsDev.nz will be involved with, such as helping to organise events and doing maintenance work on the modules it creates.

So the main thrust of SMUNZ sprint #8 is to launch OpsDev.nz as a collective and for OpsDev.nz to start on its first project which we call RAMP, for bootstrapping the infrastructure SMUNZ needs for finops.

Also due this week: month-end reconciliation (bank account → Beancount → OpenCollective), and updating the reconciliation publishing process now that we're moving from Hugo to Zensical.
